Recipe: Thai Beef Cucumber Salad

Recipe: Thai Beef Cucumber Salad

During my first couple of rounds, I followed The hCG Protocol pretty darn strictly, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t try to expand the rules a little.  HA!

Technically, cilantro is not listed in the recommend food list of Pounds and Inches.  But I knew I wanted it.  I wanted something to spice up my foods, and I missed it.

I did some extensive research about cilantro and figured that the health benefits outweighed any detrimental effects it might have had on The hCG Protocol.  Oh yeah, call it justification.

But seriously, Dr. Simeons does mention specifically that you are allowed […]

Recipe: Jerk Stuffed Mini Peppers

Mini peppers are quite the rage right now.  People are buying these in 2 pound bags by the trunkful’s, as evidenced by the fact that they run out all the time at Sam’s (or whatever your bulk store seems to be where you are)!

Fortunately, I can still get them at my neighborhood Publix.  I made the mistake recently in buying their 8 oz bag instead of the 2 pound bag and I have to admit I regretted it!

I have only recently discovered these magnificent beauties, so will be sharing more and more recipes as I become more […]

Recipe: Salsa

Recipe: Salsa

I had no idea, but did you know that Salsa is considered the number one condiment in the United States?  According to Food Product Design magazine, as of December 2000, salsa replaced ketchup as the number one condiment in the US!

Salsa is one of those things that everybody has their own recipe as to what they think is best, however, I felt it important to provide you with a base that you can tweak on your own.

I have found the following recipe fits that requirement quite nicely.

Make sure you pay attention to the notes at the bottom of the […]

Biz was a great “discovery”!

I did my first two rounds all on my own, before discovering Happily Thinner After, and did pretty well with P2. My problem arose, like many, during Round 2, P3/4. I had a hard time stabilizing. I couldn’t figure out why, because stabilizing on P3/4 the first round turned out to be easy. I started out Round 3 on my own, and finished P2. I did not want the hard work of my P2s to be undone by a wayward P3. I signed up for one-on-one coaching with Biz. In addition […]

hCG Success: Shawna

Biz was nonjudgmental when she was working with me.

My problem with protocol hasn’t really been with P2 or P3, it’s been P4.  I reached goal weight in 2009 and have been maintaining with a few bumps in the road.  I hit a big bump Christmas 2010.  I was able to lose the weight with protocol but my confidence was really shaken with maintaining it.

Biz was nonjudgmental when she was working with me. She has kept me accountable and encouraged me with the choice I made for a maintenance program.  She didn’t try to talk me out of it, or to […]

I worked on my own trying to lose weight and I had marginal success.

Then a friend told me about The hCG Protocol.   I researched the internet for information and found the Happily Thinner After website.  I started a journal.  I was helped by others that were working through the protocol like I was.

I joined Boot Camp and was very eager to login and learn all I could.  I worked through P3 and P4 with the mentors. On some occasions Biz would drop in at Boot Camp and share pearls of wisdom.  I knew […]
