Support: Going Rogue with The hCG Protocol

decisions250Effective leaders help others to understand the necessity of change and to accept a common vision of the desired outcome. ~ John Kotter

When I was first introduced to this miracle that is The hCG Protocol and I started my first round, I was a purist.  I wanted to follow Dr. Simeons’ instructions to a “T”, not deviating from it in the least.

Well … I have to add a caveat … I did my first round under a clinics care so I did do some things a little differently.  HOWEVER, the food was as written in Pounds and Inches.

In fact, the food list and suggested menu from the clinic had more than a few things that were not on Dr. Simeons list, and I thought to myself, hey, I am going to do it as written, I want to maximize my results by following the master, the expert, the one who created this miracle.  The fact that the clinic had been in the business of dispensing hCG for weight loss for 17 years with huge success didn’t make one hill of beans of difference to me.  I knew better.

::giggle::

During that time I was a member of an online support group (NOT HTA) that had a few people that were trying different things and I have to admit that I was a little vocal about following Dr. Simeons plan instead of venturing off to other things reminding people what he said here under The Diet:

“The most tiresome patients are those who start counting Calories and then come up with all manner of ingenious variations which they compile from their little books. When one has spent years of weary research trying to make a diet as attractive as possible without jeopardizing the loss of weight, culinary geniuses who are out to improve their unhappy lot are hard to take.”

I would constantly remind people that to stray from the master was asking for trouble.

I am reminded of something my mother always said to me growing up … don’t spit up in the air, it’ll come back and hit you in the face…

Well …

That spit did land.

::giggle::

It wasn’t until my 4th round that I decided to start experimenting with The hCG Protocol.  And incidentally, by that time I had already started a new hCG Support site with others who were just like me so I had lots of good company to join me in my exploits.  There were plenty of willing guinea pigs out there that could test my theories.  However, I always tested on myself first.

I started small.  For the previous rounds I didn’t touch coffee.  There was no way I could drink coffee without cream, and since I was only allowed 1 tbsp of SKIM milk a day, I said forget it with the coffee.  During my fourth round I added coffee back in but I allowed myself 2 tbsp of half and half.  I would leave out the melba (this was at a time I didn’t realize melba was evil) so I would have the extra calories to allow myself that indulgence.  My experiment paid off!  I kept losing with no issues, and I was one happy camper!

During my first 4-5 rounds I was really heavy into research about The hCG Protocol and so I was calling clinics and doctors all over the country to find out the little things they were doing to update Dr. Simeons protocol, and was becoming more and more amazed at the results these people were having with their clients/patients by changing just a few things along the way.  Things like adding fats, or mixing veggies, or adding a variety of veggies and fruits, or even raising calories.

Suffice it to say that today I am no longer a purist.  ::giggle::

My intense research started to turn me into one that truly believed that The hCG Protocol could fit in with almost any lifestyle, and you would still have excellent results.  That research taught me that it isn’t the time you spend on P2 that is important as much as what you do once you are done.  I learned that although it’s true you are guaranteed results by following Dr. Simeons plan as written, there are changes you can establish to make the protocol much easier to handle and to live with, especially if you have over 100 pounds to lose and you are in this for the long haul.

Call me rogue, I don’t care anymore.

In fact, I have been on the fence for a couple of years now about actually calling the way I handle protocol with my clients The Biz Buzz Method of The hCG Protocol, but you know what?  There are all sorts of people out there staking their claim on their own way of doing things, so I have finally said, WHY NOT ME???  I have a definite system I am using with my clients and it works, and I get results, so why not call it something?

AGAIN, before I get attacked, I totally admit that when you follow things via Pounds and Inches you are guaranteed results.  But there are more than a few people out there that if they had to wait until things fit into the schedule of the protocol as written, they would never be able to start.

We do not live in the world that Dr. Simeons lived in when he conducted all of his tests, so we do the best with what we have been dealt with.  We have obesity today in epic proportions, we eat genetically modified foods, our lives are crazy busy going in all different directions, and our foods are contaminated beyond belief.  We have a plethora of situations to handle that I am sure if Dr. Simeons had to deal with them, the protocol would look dramatically different today.  Just my guess.

So that is it.  I am staking my claim on The Biz Buzz Method.  I am announcing it to the world.

In the upcoming weeks, I will be spending some time with each newsletter sharing with you some of my workarounds to The hCG Protocol. These workarounds make the protocol more livable, more able to work it around your life instead of working your life around the protocol, and still get excellent results.

Stay tuned…

Great news! I hope you’re working on a new book!

I’ve made shortcuts myself, and adopted some from other people, and in my heart I know that the plan one doctor worked out working alone can be improved on with more people working on it.

Actually, it’s time for me to rewrite the starter manual, and that is next on my list, shhhh, don’t tell anyone.

So true, so true. There was one clinic in particular in Houston TX that has been doing The hCG Protocol for 4 decades with success, with their own method. There is a lot to be said for that for sure!

    Hi Biz,
Looking forward to hearing some of your rogue ways. I am thinking it may help me stick a bit longer with this round.

I see a comment that melba is evil? Can you explain please?

    • Biz says:

Hello Amy! Thanks for stopping by. If you read:

Wheat Belly by Dr William Davis
Grain Brain by Dr David Perlmutter
Good Calories Bad Calories by Gary Taubes

You will discover why I call Melba “evil”. If those books don’t answer the question, please stop back by and I will elaborate.

Wondering, what type of foods can be eaten when going off original protocol? Thanks

    • Biz Buzz says:

Hello! Thank you so much for the question … I have several articles that can help you here at GYTO:

      Clean Fats
      Fruits and Veggies
      Starches

My best advice to you is to look at The First Step as that has directions, menus, recipes, and all the how to for doing hCG rouge style!

      Any questions, just ask!
