Support: Go Back to the Beginning

A university professor went to visit a famous Zen master. While the master quietly served tea, the professor talked about Zen. The master poured the visitor’s cup to the brim, and then kept pouring. The professor watched the overflowing cup until he could no longer restrain himself. “It’s overfull! No more will go in!” the professor blurted. “You are like this cup,” the master replied, “How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup.” ~ Zen Story

Recipe: Spinach and Artichoke Dip (NonDairy)

Recipe: Spinach and Artichoke Dip (NonDairy)

Ever try a recipe which you just know can’t be any good, but you are willing to give it a try anyway because you know it’s good for you, in fact, better for you than most other things … and then you are SHOCKED because it’s way better than you dreamed of?

This is one of those recipes.

Who knew cashews could taste like cheese?

If you did know this, then how come you haven’t said anything, like yelled it from the mountaintops that roasted and unsalted cashews are an awesome sub for cheese in dishes that require heat (temperature)?

I made this, and […]

Recipe: Coconut Butter

Recipe: Coconut Butter

This really isn’t a recipe, but more about how much I am in love with coconut butter!  ::giggle::

I am really trying to move away from dairy being the predominant high fat source, so looking more and more into using nut butters as a substitute for dairy, for some things.  With coconut butter being 87% fat, it fits in very nicely with the HIGH FAT lifestyle.

Coconut butter however has been cost prohibitive for me, I couldn’t justify purchasing a jar for $12-$14 and kept putting it off.  I came across how to make it yourself, and I had a pound of […]

It’s not the weight you lost that matters, it’s the weight you keep off. ~ Biz

It’s about time I started quoting myself.

We are going to talk about maintenance for a bit. As wonderful and as much a miracle as The hCG Protocol is, it’s nothing without maintenance.

For some, eating the way you do on P2 is just penance for being able to eat the way you REALLY want to on P3.

Many feel that after a round of P2, they can go back to the way they were eating before that round and by some miracle, their body is ok with […]

Recipe: 80% Fat Breakfast – Bacon, Eggs, Avocados and Tomatoes with Spicy Mayonnaise

Recipe: 80% Fat Breakfast – Bacon, Eggs, Avocados and Tomatoes with Spicy Mayonnaise

Been working with a few clients lately (as guinea pigs!) to test a true ketogenic diet, which is at least 80% fat.

For some out there, it’s pretty easy to get your fats up to 65-70% – it’s that extra 10-15% that leaves them scratching their head.

If there is one thing I can do, and do well, is to manipulate a menu to meet requirements, no matter what it is.

There is a buzz right now all around the internet about being in nutritional ketosis, and using that as a way to either lose weight, or for some, just simply maintain when […]

Recipe: 80% Fat Lunch – Creamed Spinach and Chicken on a Bed of Asparagus

Recipe: 80% Fat Lunch – Creamed Spinach and Chicken on a Bed of Asparagus

I love high fat, did I ever mention this?

This was so super simple to make, from start to finish it was around 20 minutes. And as it was cooking my daughter was like, Mom, what smells so good? Guess who got the only serving I made that day?

::giggle::

This debunks the theory that you can’t have much veggies while on a true ketogenic diet, or you can’t put yourself into nutritional ketosis with veggies. I say, bah humbug. Don’t ever tell me you can’t do something.

I do have to admit however, that this is awfully GREEN – it needs some color, […]

It’s bizarre that the produce manager is more important to my children’s health than the pediatrician.   ~ Meryl Streep

Ain’t it the truth?

I am reminded of the quote from Hippocrates:

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

That is true on our weight control journey and in our day-to-day lifetime maintenance, but no less the truth for how we should eat while on The hCG Protocol.

There is a sentence in Pounds and Inches that sometimes people feel gives them carte blanche in regards to what you MUST eat (or rather NOT eat) while on P2 (found More

Recipe: Bombs of Fat

Recipe: Bombs of Fat

The beauty of living the high fat way of life is that hunger is seldom an issue, and energy is in abundance, that sometimes you just forget to eat.

I know, unreal right?

But seriously, not eating is really NOT an option when you are doing high fat.  High fat works better when you are not starving yourself, but instead, giving your body the energy it needs to serve you well.

That is why these little things are so incredibly awesome on a high fat way of life.  It provides in just a little package everything that you would need to move on […]
