Phase 3 (P3) is the critical time period following the hCG Protocol weight loss phase. The idea is to lock in weight loss by creating a stabilizing environment keeping one’s body within two pounds for three weeks thus establishing a new set point.
I want to emphatically emphasize Phase 3 is the most important segment of the protocol.
Too many disregard Phase 3 thinking they are done with eating strictly. However, without diligent careful Phase 3 observance, weight may be quickly re-gained as many return to their old way of eating. P3 is the vital transitional phase not only stabilizing one’s body, […]
If one were to look at my recipe index here, one would get the impression that I like curry.
That would be an understatement. ::giggle::
My ex-husband didn’t like the smell or taste of curry … in fact, I couldn’t have it in the house as it made him feel nauseous. So that means for about 15 years, I did without this wonderful spice. I am more than making up for it now. HA!
Curry is interesting as it’s […]
Are you making decisions from where you are, or where you want to be? ~ Christine Kane
Previously, I wrote an article regarding a decision making system. As a quick refresher, here are the steps:
- Define the challenge
- Do the research
- Evaluate the alternatives
- Make the decision
- Just do it
The quote above aptly describes the guiding thought process behind it. This truly powerful approach helped me change my outlook on life.
In early 2010, while taking a program by Christine Kane, I first became aware of that concept. She spent an entire week on decision making, devoting one whole day to this one thought: make decisions […]
Who doesn’t like Beef Stroganoff? I don’t think I have met a person yet.
Some interesting facts about this comfort food dish.
The dish originated in Russia, not in Germany like I originally thought. Although the name is associated with Count Paul Stroganoff (Pavel Alexandrovich Stroganov), a 19th Century Russian Diplomat, the actual origins of the dish have never been confirmed.
The basic original recipe ingredients have not changed over time: beef, mushrooms and sour cream.
Elena Molokhovets’ classic Russian cookbook, A Gift to Young Housewives (1861) gives the first known recipe for Beef Stroganoff which involves lightly floured beef cubes (not strips) […]
There is no such thing as a failed experiment, only experiments with unexpected outcomes. ~ Richard Buckminster Fuller
When it comes to nutrition, I am notorious for conducting experiments.
I scour the internet daily to see what new studies have been released; who has a new regimen for weight loss, and any new information on how our bodies work with the fuel we call food.
I receive hundreds of subscriber list emails which include information on anything and everything body-mind-spirit related to creating a healthier body.
I scan everything. It’s my job and I love it! ::giggle::
When something tickles my fancy, I hone in […]
A visit to Hawaii is not complete unless you have a meal of Kalua Pork.
Kalua literally means to cook in an underground oven.
The Hawaiians loved cooking in the ground … they would build a fire using kiawe (mesquite) wood in a dirt pit called an imu. This pit was usually about 6 feet long, 4 feet wide and 3 feet deep. The pit would be lined with rocks and vegetation, then the meat would be salted and placed on that, then more rocks and vegetation and then covered with wet burlap and then sand/soil. Then you left it alone and […]
Brrrr, it’s cold outside!
A lot of the country is surrounded by cold … and what is better than to warm yourself up from the inside out?
When you are on P2, the body tends to react to cold a little bit differently than when you are eating normal maintenance. Most seem to stay cold, so warm foods are just the ticket.
I know my favorite go to soups/stews are those with beef and tomatoes. They just seem to create a hearty and satiating meal that warms me up inside. This soup adds radishes to act like a potato … and if you […]
This recipe is for P2, or if you are on the Mix It Up Experiment, it can be for Stage 1 or 3 (add sour cream) … it’s a variation of the recipe for Taco Salad.
Salads are one of my mainstays while on P2 … they are so portable … don’t need any heating up, and you can make it ahead of time (night before) and throw it in a cooler when you are ready to go.
I have gotten into the habit lately of chopping a lot of salad veggies and […]
